The Bulge factor of a cut stone is the roundness of the pavillion when viewing the stone in profile/ It can be:
- medium
- visible
- obvious
- extrime
The outline of a cut Stone can be observed in it's face up position. It is only considered in oval-, marquise-, heart-, and pear-shaped gemstone. It can be:
- medium - pleasing to the eyes; well rounded, flowing lines.
- fat - a too square look instead of well rounded lines.
- very fat - one can almost detect corns now.
